Nancy Bonner Davenport

Nancy Bonner Davenport died Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Guggenheimer Nursing Home. She was born August 26, 1922 in Kilmarnock, VA. Nancy was the daughter of the late Thomas Welby and Alice Bertha Bonner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Reed Davenport; her brother, T.W. Bonner, Jr. and her son-in-law, Bruce John Benedict.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie D. Benedict of Lynchburg.

Nancy was active in Peakland Baptist Church, in Lynchburg and Baptist Temple Church when she lived in Alexandria, VA. She enjoyed entertaining friends in her home. She was blessed with the gift of "listening" to people. Nancy was never judgemental. She offered guidance to many people throughout her life's journey. She was kind, gentle and full of grace.

The family is grateful for the care Nancy received from the second floor staff of Guggenheimer Nursing Home and the staff of Centra Hospice.

The family will receive friends tonight, October 27, 2010 from 7 to 8:30 pm at Diuguid Wiggington Road. A celebration of Nancy's life will be conducted 3:00 pm Thursday, October 28, 2010 by the Rev. Nathan Brooks, III at Diuguid Wiggington Road Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday, October 29, 2010 at Mount Comfort Memorial Park in Alexandria, VA.
