Sallie Farris Obituary
Sallie Cheatwood Farris, 88 of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clarence C. Farris.
Born Sept. 3, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Harry C. and Lottie Mosby Cheatwood. She was a homemaker and member of Forest Road United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her brother, William H. Cheatwood, of Lynchburg ; one sister, Mary Doss, of Florida; and her very close and caring neighbors and the children she babysat many years, Carson and Erin Crowder; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry C. "Pete" Cheatwood, and three sisters, Harriette Lecky, Lillian Daniel and Dorothy Couch.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, in Fort Hill Memorial Park, with the Rev. Steven Willis officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
Memorial contributions may be made to Old Forest Road United Methodist Church, 2805 Old Forest Rd. Lynchburg, VA , 24501.

Ms Farris,
You will be missed greatly by our family. It was always so special and meant alot to the kids that you always thought about them. You were a very special, sweet person and will be missed. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family.

Sal was the glue that holds a family together. Her heart and home reflected a lifetime of memories. She was a special Aunt and caring, loving Sister. Her love will be with us always. God bless all who are close to her. We share the sadness but know that her beauty is eternal. We are truly sorry that we are unable to be with you at this difficult time. Sending our deepest thoughts and prayers with sympathy and hope.
