Marian Burley Obituary
AMHERST Marian Farmer Burley, 62, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Beverly Callahan Burley.
Born Feb. 17, 1948, in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late Eddie Thomas and Pauline Thacker Farmer Sr. She was a retired hairdresser and teachers aide from Amherst Middle School.
She is also survived by a daughter, Teresa Lee Caplinger, and husband, Nathanael, of Madison Heights; two brothers, Harold Farmer and wife, Bobbie, and Bobby Joe Farmer and wife, Nancy, both of Durham, N.C.; and two granddaughters, Martha Jordan Thornton and Danielle Joyce Caplinger, both of Madison Heights.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at Driskill Funeral Chapel, Amherst, (434) 946-5529, with Rev. Shin Woo Hong, after which the family will receive friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Amherst Life Saving Crew, P.O. Box 193, Amherst, VA 24521.

Bev and Teresa,
Marian was an angel sent here to give laughter, fun and love to everyone she touched. She touched my family. She and my mother (Joanie) shared a friendship that will last forever. I loved her, too. She was in my life at a very important time and helped to shape who I am today. Her never-ending ability to see “the brighter side” will be with many of us always. Mom and I know she is with angels Carol and Linda smiling and praying over us. We are so blessed to have had her in our lives. With great sympathy we send our love and prayers to your family.

Marian was a kinded hearted person and I know she will be missed by everyone. I remember the wonderful time we all had at the beach in 1979. Much love to the family.
