EVELYN JOY Obituary
Evelyn Daniel Joy, 90, of Joy Rd., Brookneal passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Summit Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Paul J. Joy for 60 years.
Mrs. Joy was born in Campbell County, March 9, 1920, a daughter of the late Charlie B. Daniel and Dora Holland Daniel. She was a long time member of Union Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by, two daughters, Beverly J. Shotwell and husband Carroll of Lexington, Shirley J. Creasey and husband Jim of Forest; twin sons, Barry Joy and wife Donna of Appomattox, Barney Joy and wife Brenda of Brookneal; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bridie Bradley of Brookneal and Arie Elder of Buckingham. She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Union Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. James D. Newman with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 pm Friday, October 22, 2010 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and the residence other times.
Memorial contributions may be made to Union Hill Baptist Church, the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.

Dearest Beverly and Family.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Distance and physical conditions kept us from attending the funeral.
May precious memories and thoughts of happy times ease the sorrow and may you know that your dear Mother is now with you Dad and other loved ones and someday we will all be together in Heaven.
