Howard Grayson
Witt Sr.
Howard Grayson Witt Sr., 55, of Bedford, passed away Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at his residence.
He was born Wednesday, Feb. 23, 1955, in Lynchburg, a son of Charles G. Witt and Marie Zimmerman Witt, of Bedford, who survive. He was a self-employed logger and was a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to his father and mother, he is survived by two sons, Howard G. Witt Jr., of Bedford, and Anthony C. Witt and wife, Dana, of Southport, N.C.; two brothers, Michael D. Witt and wife, Loni, of Lynchburg, and Mark D. Witt, of Bassett; and a grandson, Mason T. Witt. A funeral service at the graveside will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday,
Oct. 19, 2010, at Virginia Memorial Park, with the Rev. John T. Salley officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.

I grew up with Howard but I had not seen him or his family for more than 30 years. I heard of his passing too late to attend the memorial service which I regret, I would like to have been there. I have many memories of great times with Howard during our teen years. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. God bless you all.
