Cecil Armintrout Obituary
Cecil (Cec) Vernon Armintrout, of Amherst, died Sept. 17, 2010, at the age of 85.
Cec was born on Aug. 27, 1925, in Menard County, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Cauline (Peggy) Armintrout.
He is also survived by his children, Joe Armintrout, of Merritt Island, Fla., Teresa Hrabe and her husband, Bill, of Alexandria, (Maggie) Diane Stack, of Ashburn, and Babs Rountree and her husband, Bailey, of Smithfield. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brian, Jennifer, Kim, April, Kenny and Julie, and his six great-grandchildren.
He was a United States Air Force/Army veteran and retired from the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency as a communication manager in 1980.
Cec has elected to donate his body for medical research. Graveside services will be conducted later at a date to be announced in Culpeper National Cemetery beside his beloved wife, Peg. The family invites friends to share in a celebration of his life from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Bentley Commons at 1604 Graves Mill Road, Lynchburg.
In lieu of flowers, those who desire to make contributions may consider the Centra Hospice of the Hills, 3300 Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24503; the American Cancer Society; or the Salvation Army, 2301 Park Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24503.
