"Bumpy" Jackson

Lawrence Steve "Bumpy" Jackson, 60, of Bedford, died Friday,

Dec. 24, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Riverdale, Md., on March 26, 1950, a son of the late Richard Edward Jackson and Estelle Dickerson Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Defibaugh Jackson; his children, Steven Jackson and his wife, Rebecca, Hope Jackson and boyfriend, Josh, Lisa Curry and husband, Johnny, Kerri Ann Donn and husband, Michael, Vincent Defibaugh and wife, Krystal, Benjamin Defibaugh and girlfriend, Dana, and son Oscar; grandchildren, Sherri, Brooke, Timothy, Skylar, Tyler, Randal, Michael and Angela; adopted grandchildren, Erin and Payton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Francis Burton; brothers, Donnie Jackson and Russell Jackson; a sister, Rose Villarial; dear friends, Mattie and Bill Harkey, Edna, and best friends forever, Gary and Mary Ernest; and many nieces and nephews that he loved and never had time to tell them.

He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Ashley.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday,

Dec. 27, 2010, at Burch Messier Walnut Street Chapel, with the Rev. Rick Dellinger officiating. Burial will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 26, 2010, at Burch-Messier Walnut Street Chapel, 1235 Walnut St., Bedford, (540) 586-7360.
