Daniel Conway Long

Daniel Conway Long, 61, of Lynchburg, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Wanda Reynolds Long for 40 years.

Born July 29, 1949, in San Antonio, Texas, he was the son of the late Harold Daniel and Margaret Brinegar Long Stanley. Mr. Long was a machinist with B&W with more than 30 years of service and was a member of First Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jason D. Long, and wife, Christina; one daughter, Nicole R. Long, both of Lynchburg; three sisters, Cynthia Scott and husband, Marvin, of Birmingham, Ala., Rita Ragland and husband, Barry, of Rustburg, and Sue George and husband, Tommy, of Lynchburg; three brothers, Rodney Long and wife, Valerie, of Asheville, N.C., Bryan Long of Rocky Mount, and Loren Long and wife, Jane, of Franklin, N.C.; two grandchildren, Laurel Stephenson and Shannon Stephenson; his mother-in-law, Louise Reynolds, of Altavista; and his step-father, Pat Stanley, of Lynchburg.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
