Gary Eugene Ripley

Gary Eugene Ripley, 55, of Forest, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at his residence. He was born Oct. 25, 1954, in Lynchburg, the son of the late Clarence S. Ripley and Bertha D. Ripley.

Gary was self-employed and worked in construction.

Gary is survived by his loving partner of 33 years, Debbie Burnette; three sisters, Joyce Craun and husband, Larry, of Mt. Solon, Mary Rogers and husband, Jim, of Lynchburg, and Lynda Lynch, of Farmington Hills, Mich.; and three beautiful nieces, Susan Webb, Ashley Lynch and Whitney Lynch.

Until declining health no longer permitted, Gary did excellent woodworking and his love of the natural beauties provided by God were evident in his hobbies, camping and fishing.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, with the Rev. Doug Pillow officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.

Gary was THE LOVE of my life in junior high school and I have many very happy memories of our times skating at Skateland, going to movies, starting high school and just doing the stuff teenagers of that day did. He was way too young to leave this world and I am very sorry to hear of his death.
