Mabel Pearl Pearson Jordan

Mabel Pearl Pearson Jordan, 99, of Lynchburg, died, Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at The Summit. She was the wife of the late Clarence Giles Jordan. Born Dec. 2, 1911, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert Harper Pearson and Florence Wilkerson Pearson.

Mrs. Jordan was a homemaker and a member of Park View United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Jordan is preceded in death by two daughters, Louise Jordan and Betty J. Robertson; one son, Clarence G. "Buddy" Jordan Jr.; three brothers, nine sisters and one grandson, Andrew Peebles.

Mrs. Jordan is survived by one son, Thomas Jordan and his wife Jean, of Leesburg; one daughter, Dorothy J. Russell and her husband, James, of Forest; one sister, Ruby P. Coleman, of Roanoke; one brother-in-law, Bob Malott; ten grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will conducted 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Fort Hill Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Phil Showers.

There will be no scheduled visitation hours at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the residence of James and Dorothy Russell.

Memorial contributions may be made to Park View United Methodist Church, 2420 Memorial Ave., Lynchburg, VA, 24501.

Nana is a loved and respected Christian lady. I love her so much. I will miss you nana but I know you are with Jesus and the rest of your family. You knew Jesus as your Savior and I'm so thankful I saw you recently. You were and will always be an inspiration.

Aunt Dottie & Dad, you two are her legacy and children on earth and I'm so sorry for your loss. We love you.
