Marie Kidd Obituary
Marie Johnson Kidd, 84, of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Heritage Green. She was the devoted wife of Abe Nelson Kidd for 46 years. She was a member of Redeeming Grace Baptist Church for over 60 years.
Her parents were the late Miller Jennings Johnson and Ada Kidd Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Miller T. Johnson and William L. Johnson.
Marie is survived by her two daughters, Katherine K. Ellis, and husband, Eddie, of Asheboro, N.C., and Kim K. Stewart, and husband, David, of Forest; her son, Thomas N. Kidd, and his wife, Danita, of Forest; her six grandchildren, Cindy King and husband, Patrick, Timothy Ellis and wife, Jennifer, Jennifer Kidd, Ashley Stewart, Emily Stewart and Kellie Stewart; her six great-grandchildren, Mariann King, Aaron King, Zachary Ellis, Daniel Ellis, Annie Ellis and Andrew Ellis; her two sisters, Ruth Proffitt and Nancy Ripley; and her two sisters-in-law, Beth Mehaffey and Juanita Johnson.
The family will receive friends Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, with the Rev. Mike O'Brien officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Redeeming Grace Baptist Church, 3630 Old Forest Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24501, (434) 385-7413.

Hello Kathi,
I am truly sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. I remember seeing her beautiful smile from the balcony every Sunday, as we sang in the choir at Old Forest Rd. Baptist Church. She was a very sweet lady. I know that there is going to be a big void without her presence. You and your family are in my prayers.
