Frank Leonard Inge

Frank Leonard Inge, 80, of Monroe, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy Martin Inge for 64 wonderful years.

Born in Amherst County, he was the son of the late Frank Leslie Inge and the late Elizabeth Steen Inge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Tommy Smith.

Frank was retired from Consolidated Shoe Co. after 26 years of service and he had worked for the Southern Railroad Co. for 14 years. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, L. Dudley Inge and his wife, Jeannie, of Monroe and Robert Inge and his wife, Debbie, of Lynchburg; one daughter, Florence I. Smith of Monroe; one brother, Harold Inge and his, wife, Sue; two sisters, Lillian I. Ford of Monroe and Hilda Hubbard and her husband, Freddie, of Madison Heights; seven grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, in Amherst Cemetery by Pastor Steve Amburgey.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the residence.

The family would like any memorial contributions to be sent to the Hospice of the Hills, 3300 Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24503, as they took such good care of Frank, which the family really appreciated.
