Victoria Hamilton Obituary
Victoria Duff Hamilton, 86, of Monroe, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Correll Hamilton.
Born Sept. 6, 1923, in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Violand and Etta Duff and was also preceded in death by one son, Mike Hamilton, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Mission and a former member of Elon Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Hamilton is survived by four children, Etta Mae H. Tetrault (Vick), of Manchester, Pa., Marvin Junior Hamilton and Kathleen Hamilton, both of Monroe, and Lester Hamilton and wife, Rebecca, of Amherst; grandchildren, Susan Tyree, Jeff (Katie), Clayton (Penny), Bryan (Kim), Nicole, Marie, Ray (Shirley), Chris, Correll (Beth), Marvin (Chasity) and Paul (Laurie); great-grandchildren, Jessica, (Derick), Ray Ray, James, Carrie (Kris), Skyler, Katelyn, Kameron, Michelle, C.J., Catherine, Brittany, Justin, Zack, Noah, Caleb, Sarah, Johnny, Jaden, Keirsten, Kylie and Jessica Wood; three great-great grandchildren, Jeremy, Adam and Destiny; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at Whitten Monelison Chapel, with the Rev. Barry Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the Johns Family Cemetery in Amherst County. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the residence.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Hospice nurses, Elaine, Becky and Teresa, Home Health nurses and Therapist Bill.

Aunt Vick you had the kindess heart of anyone i know.May you R.I.P.with all of your family gone on befor you.The one thing i will miss the most about you is that angle smile you always had when i would see you.Iknow the angles in heaven were gretting you with that same smile.Will miss you so much love you.

Grandma, I will truly miss your smile, kindness, and thoughtfulness as you always opened your heart and home to all that needed it. Although I know your were ready to go, we never wanted to see such a great person leave this world. The world was a better place with you in it and we will all miss you and will be with heavy hearts this weekend as we say goodbye; until we meet again someday. I love you grandma !!
