David Paris Obituary

David "Scott" Paris

David "Scott" Paris, 54, passed away at his home Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with liver disease and pulmonary hypertension. He was born Aug. 30, 1956, to the late William Patton and Marianne Paris.

Scott touched the lives of everyone he met and could strike up conversation with anyone. He loved the outdoors, golf and fishing. When his children were young, he coached little league football and basketball and was their number one fan. After being diagnosed with liver disease, he fought hard and never gave up, eventually getting a liver transplant in April, 2009.

Scott worked for Applied Industrial Technologies for 22 years as an account manager and loved his job and the wonderful people he worked with. He often joked that he had the greatest job in the world, after all what other job would pay him to play golf, fish and go to sporting events with customers he thought of as friends.

Scott is survived by his wife and soul mate of 32 years, Donna; a daughter, Jennifer Cash, and her partner, Christopher Naurocki, of Madison Heights; and four grandsons, Mason, Matthew, McKenna and Maddox; as well as numerous aunts uncles and cousins and his best friends, Stan and Janet Sosnowski.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, David Scott Paris, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider United Network for Organ Sharing, P.O. Box 2484, Richmond, VA 23218.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, Nov. 6, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home, with Pastor Dale Long officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park following service.
