Dorothy Scott Kramer

Dorothy Scott Kramer, 87, of Lynchburg, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010. She was the beloved wife of Harold F. Kramer. Dorothy was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 17, 1923, daughter of the late Jesse Grover and Inez Elliott Scott.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Dianne and Norris Williams, of Evington; sons Scott and Sandy Kramer, of Forest, Michael Kramer, of Rustburg, Billy and Connie Kramer, of Forest, Kevin Kramer and Suzanne Guy, of Lynchburg, and Zane and Janet Kramer, of Rustburg; grandchildren, Scott and Robin Kramer Jr., Steve and Marie Kramer, Mischele and Joseph Routh, Jeb and Whitney Kramer, Lindsay and Brian Hagstrom, Carson and Jonathan Winston, Reed Kramer, Alison Kramer, Alan Kramer, Jr. and Ashley Kramer and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Patricia and husband Jesse Cantrell, of Georgia, two sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was predeceased by her brothers, Jesse, Billy, Bobby and Donald Scott, half-sister, Joyce Sprague, grandson, John Dustin Kramer, and daughter-in-law Missie Kramer.

Dorothy was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where she served on the Diaconate, and as a Sunday School teacher. She drove a school bus for nineteen years for the Campbell County School system. Dorothy was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Lynchburg Area Women's Bowling Association. She enjoyed traveling, especially cross country and beach trips, was passionate about sports and loved being with her family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dorothy's caregivers, Nancy Shannon, Mona Ferguson, and Gail Crouse.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 at Covenant Presbyterian Church with Pastor Margie Anderson officiating.

Memorial contributions in Dorothy's memory may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 108 Melinda Drive, Lynchburg, Va. 24502.

"Doc" Harold, I don't get the paper so I'm late knowing of Dot's passing. With your Navy career, & our military backgrounds, we really enjoyed bowling with you both on the "Friday Night Bowling League" many years ago!
