James Ogden Obituary
James L. (Jimmy) Ogden Sr., 68, of Amherst County, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010. He was born in Lynchburg on June 8, 1942, a son of the late Earlie B. and Ruby D. Ogden.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy Jr. (Crystal), of Madison Heights; twin daughters, Shirley Mays (Tony) and Shelby Slate (Scott), of Watertown, N.Y.; a brother, Thurman E. Ogden (Ann), and a sister, Shirley O. Hudson, of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and a longtime friend, Alvin Womack.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, in the Salvation Army Chapel, with Corps Sgt. Major Assistant Pastor Wayne Wade conducting the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions toward final expenses may be made to Tharp Funeral Home, c/o James Lewis Ogden Sr. Funeral Fund, P.O. Box 15008, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
