Meredith Gibbons Obituary

Meredith Dean Gibbons

Meredith Dean Gibbons, 77, of Lynchburg, formerly of Portland, Ore., died Monday Nov. 1, 2010.

Meredith was born Aug. 25, 1933, in Enid, Okla., the son of the late George E. Gibbons and Edna Topley Seehusen. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was retired as a commodities and stock broker.

He is survived by a son, Brad Gibbons, and his wife, Chris, of Lynchburg; a daughter, Karin Gibbons, of Portland, Ore.; and four grandchildren; Ashley, Danielle, Audra and Michael Gibbons.

The family will hold a private memorial service for Meredith at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorial contributions to the Lynchburg Humane Society, 3305 Naval Reserve Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501.

Meredith was a great friend who had an insatiable intellectual curiosity. I always enjoyed our conversations ranging from books, to investments, to traveling the country in an RV. I will miss him.

Meredith was a friend and somewhat of a mentor for many years to myself and I am sure other people as well.
He will be missed not only by his faithful dog but many humans as well
