Mildred Worsham Borselli McDaniel

Mildred Worsham Borselli McDaniel, 90, of Lynchburg, VA, died Sunday, August 29, 2010.

Mrs. McDaniel was born Wednesday, June 9, 1920 in Pittsylvania County, VA, a daughter of the late Samuel Essex Worsham and Gertrude Hamlet Worsham. Mildred graduated from E.C. Glass High School. She went to work for C&P Telephone Co. in Lynchburg where she worked for 15 years as switchboard operator.

She met 2nd Lieutenant Nicholas Arthur Borselli and they were married in December 1942 and divorced in 1945. Two years later she met her true love, the late William Pribble McDaniel Jr. They were married on March 9, 1951. She was a member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church on Fort Avenue.

She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Jacqueline Borselli Keesee, Paul Keith McDaniel (Sherry) and Joan McDaniel Richards (Rick); seven grandchildren, Jason McDaniel, Briana McDaniel and Whitney McDaniel DeLong (Shane), Christy, Cory and Adam Richards, and Heather Keesee; three great grandchildren, Reagan and Aiden McDaniel and Arianna DeLong; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Hughes and Mrs. Linda Burford.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A celebration of Mildred's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 2, 2010 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
