WILLIAM TAYLOR Obituary

William A. Taylor

William Anderson "Bill" Taylor, 94, of Lynchburg, died peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at Virginia Baptist Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Irene Wooldridge Taylor for 63 wonderful years.

Born Sept.r 23, 1916, in Schuyler, he was a son of the late Wesley Allen Taylor and Mary Lou Ragland Taylor. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He attended Redeeming Grace Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Benjamin W. Taylor and wife, Wanda, of Bedford and L. Keith Taylor, of Evington; two daughters, Rachel T. Dossett and hus-band, Mike, of Durham, N.C., and Lisa T. Hall and husband, Charles, of Madison Heights. Bill is also survived by his four granddaughters, four grandsons and four great grandchil-dren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Groome.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m.to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, and other times at the home. A celebration of Bill's life will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home with Pastors Michael O'Brien and Don Cudworth officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the Children's Ministry at Redeeming Grace Baptist Church, 3630 Old Forest Road, Lynchburg, VA, 24501.
