Dewey Mayberry Obituary

Dewey White Mayberry

Dewey White Mayberry, 91, of Bedford, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, in Campbell Rest Home. Born April 10, 1919, in Bedford County, he was a son of the late Emma Cordelia White Mayberry and Travis Camden Mayberry.

Dewey was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church and a lifelong farmer.

In addition to his parents, Dewey was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Marie Coffey Mayberry; and one brother, Travis Henry Mayberry. He is survived by two nieces, Janice Dooley and her husband, Gerald, and Joan Leidich, both of Bedford; a stepdaughter, Janet Ellis and husband, Ernest, of Moneta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 650 158th St., New York, NY 10032; or Mt. Herman Baptist Church, 3805 Otterville Road, Bedford, VA 24523.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at Virginia Memorial Park, with the Rev. Mark Flores and Rev. Eugene Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to
