Rebecca Lee Richie Brown
"I've done my work, I've sung my song, I've done some right, done some wrong, now I must go where I belong...My Lord has willed it so."
Mrs. Rebecca Lee Richie Brown departed this life on Nov. 14, 2010, at her residence. She was born on Nov. 13, 1947, to the late Knowlton T. and Alpha Richie. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Brown III.
She was a faithful member of Reed Creek Baptist Church until her illness.
Rebecca is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth Brown Sr.; four children, Elizabeth, Katina, Kenneth, Jr. and Kalesha; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Lightfoot (Leroy) and Barbara Richie; three brothers, Henary Richie (Robin), Donald Richie (Almetris) and Roscoe Richie (Sydney); many, many nieces and nephews, to whom she referred to as, her children; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted 1p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at Reed Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Allan Loving officiating and Elder Roscoe Richie eulogist. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family is receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at the funeral home and other times at the residence, 601 Smyth St., Lynchburg. The cortege will assemble at the residence. Condolences may be e-mailed to [email protected] Community Funeral Home directing.

Elizabeth(boodie), Tina, Kenny Jr., Kalesha and Kenny Sr, I was very saddend to hear of Beck's death. I remember her from wayyy back in the day in Dearington and one thing I can say is,"She was one tough cookie!" Hold on to the memories, Put all your Faith and Trust in the Lord and He will keep you through this difficult time. I am so sorry that I was unable to be there but you all were in my thoughts and prayers.

You could always count on her smile and loving blessings. I realize now how great it is to be "unconditionally loved". A wonderful woman has gone to heaven to forever be our Guardian Angel.
