Agnes Kirk Obituary

Agnes Lloyd

Wade Kirk

Born Oct. 12, 1947, Agnes Lloyd Wade Kirk went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Ross Lloyd Jr. and Mildred Burks Lloyd. She was also preceded in death by one older brother, one younger brother and two younger sisters, as well as a niece, nephew and two brothers-in-law.

Agnes leaves as her legacy her son, William "Tommy" Wade, and her daughter, Kimberley L. Wade; and three dogs, Belle, Sweet Pea and Trouble. Other surviving family include her ex-husband, Michael Wade, and wife, Dawn, and their three sons. Survivors also include one brother, Warren Lloyd, and wife, Teresa; two sisters, Judith Yancey and Pamela Campbell; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Lloyd and Marion Lloyd; as well as a nephew and many nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In a short time Agnes gained a new family at the Salvation Army, many of whom she also leaves behind. Agnes touched many people throughout her 63 years. Agnes worked as a nursing assistant, dry cleaner and housekeeper, and had very strong values, which was evident by her dropping out of school to help her mom take care of the family. She cherished her friends and family, and now she gets to reunite with those who have gone before her and celebrate her life with her Savior.

In memory of Agnes, the family asks that green be worn at her funeral, as this was her favorite color.

A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Blue Ridge Baptist Church, Amherst.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Salvation Army.
