Evelyn, my dear sister, left us to go to a better place. God needed another rose to fill an empty space, so he called our dear sister to fill it. With only three of us remaining out of nine, we have a lot to look forward to - a great reunion when God calls us.
His will be done.

Thinking of Aunt Evelyn…I recall a pretty smile, a kind and compassionate spirit, but yet - playful, and a sincere witness for the Lord and love of family. I will always cherish and be grateful for the influence she had on my life!
My thoughts and prayers are with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Niece,

My sister and I were close in age, married brothers, and in the early years of our marriages – we shared housing in Roanoke and took our babies strolling together down Melrose Avenue. We always had fun, especially shopping – even the shopping outing that we lost track of time and our husbands almost called the police to come and look for us. We shared many things, but most of all a precious love for one another.
Her laughter will always be like sweet music in my heart…this is not the end – the best is yet to come!
Sister,
Kenneth Viar

Sorry for her loss, she will always be remembered for her spirit, kindness along with her ability to laugh.

"Always"
A poem for Moma
For every tear you cry
A drop of rain will return to make you smile,
To touch you and to comfort you,
for your heart will not let her die.
For every rainbow you see,
her hand will reach out to you
and hold you in her arms,
for she will always be.
For every sad thought you allow,
her memory will sail with the wind
through your mind forever,
and she will always be alive somehow.
For the greatest love lives within you, and every breath you take will calm you, and her hand will touch you tenderly, her existence will shine through.
For your Mother there will never be an end, your love was her greatest joy and she will always be with you, your Angel, your Mother, your best friend; always...
Your son,
Bobby Slaughter

If I could have chosen a Mother it would have been her. She was the best and kindest mother anyone could have wished for. She has left us with so much love and so many memories to cherish and help us through losing her.
