Lois Lee Scott

Lois Lee Scott, passed away, Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at her residence. She was born April 23, 1926, in Campbell County to Lizzie and Samuel Scott and she was the youngest of five siblings.

Lois was a member of Lawyer's Missionary Baptist Church, Lynchburg, where she joined the Ladies Club many years ago.

Mrs. Scott was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Grover C. Scott, and to their union was five children: two daughters, Juanita Payne (Lindburg), of Rustburg, and Lois Marie Poindexter (John), of Forest; and three sons, Richard Scott, Hayward Scott (Paulette), both of Rustburg, and the late Grover Scott. She also leaves to cherish her precious memories two twin boys, Travis Scott (Norma) and Tracy Scott (Patrice); one sister, Bessie Ward, of Lynchburg; her devoted niece, Linda Scott (Ken); 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Crossroads Baptist Church, with the Rev. William Coleman, Pastor, officiating and the Rev. Edward Jones Sr. as eulogist. The interment will be in the Crossroads Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at the funeral home and other times at the home of Lois M. Poindexter.

Lois and Richard and family: So sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. She was a very sweet lady. Your mother is now in Heaven with the Lord and you will be reunited with her one day. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family with the passing of Aunt Lois. Aunt Lois will be remembered for many things, but especially for her warm and welcoming heart. I will miss our visits and my mom, Ethel, will miss the love she put into her Sunday dinners.

My childhood memories of the entire family in Lawyers will always remain as the good in former days in my memory. I wish I could be with you at this time.
