Margaret Reavis Obituary

Margaret Long Reavis

Margaret Long Reavis, 91, formerly of Altavista died on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Friends Home in Greensboro, NC. She was the wife of William Hugh Reavis.

She was born June 21, 1919 in Greensboro, NC, a daughter of the late Joseph W. Long and Annie Miller Long. She was a member of Lane Memorial United Methodist Church for sixty-five years where she was a Sunday school teacher and Cub Scout den mother and a graduate of Greensboro College.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, H. Lindsay Reavis and his wife Yolanda of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Kevin Reavis and his wife Kelly of Long Beach, CA and Stephanie Spanos and her husband Steve of Salt Lake City, UT; and one great granddaughter, Marin Spanos.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Walton, Frances Scott and Ann Lewis.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Green Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Richard T. Woodall.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.

The family suggests those wishing to make memorials consider the Resident Assistance Fund, Friends Home at Guilford, 925 New Garden Road, Greensboro, NC 27410.
