Mary Frances Rose

Mary Frances Rose, 53, formerly of Amherst, departed this life Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at Regional Memorial Hospital in Mechanicsville. Born March 9, 1957, in Amherst County, she was the daughter of Frances J. Rose and the late James H. Rose Sr.

She joined the St. Marks Baptist Church at a early age.

In addition to her mother, she leaves to cherish her memory three loving daughters, Reneca Rose Atkinson, Shemecka R. Cunningham (Shawnn) and Marneshia R. Rose, all of Richmond; three amazing grandchildren, Jabari Atkinson, Darius Jones and Shawnn Cunningham Jr.; three faithful sisters, Linda R. Winfree (Willis), Gloria R. Smith (Gary) and Angela R. Leftwich (Jackie); two wonderful brothers, James H. Rose Jr. (Kim) and Jeffery J. Rose, all of Amherst; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at St. Marks Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Terry officiating. Interment will be private. Her remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family is receiving friends from 7:30 - to 8:30 p.m. today, Nov. 12, 2010, at Community Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her mother, 115 Aberdeen Lane, Amherst. The cortege will assemble at the residence.
