Robert Carwile Obituary
Mr. Robert Edward Carwile, 96, died Sunday evening at the VA Medical Center. Mr. Carwile was born in Campbell Co., Va., the son of the late Hilda Cardwell Carwile and the late Charles Carwile. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army. Mr. Carwile was preceded in death by his wife, Jania Updike Carwile; brothers, Lewis, James, Raymond and Wesley; and a sister, Nell Carwile.
Mr. Carwile is survived by sons, Michael Carwile and wife, Sandy and Wyatt Carwile and wife, Annie; brothers, Revely Carwile, Henry Carwile and Aubrey Carwile; sister, Margaret Caldwell; grandchildren, Matthew Carwile and wife, Keri, Daniel Carwile and wife, Aleks, Rose Carwile, John Carwile and Sarah Carwile; and great grandchildren, Luke Carwile, Sadie Carwile and Ella Carwile.
A graveside service will be held Thursday 11 a.m. at Virginia Memorial Park in Forest, Va. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.
The family would like to thank the staff at Carillon Assisted Living for their love and care the last two years and a special appreciation to Dr. Amy Rosenthal at the Durham VA for her devotion and care.
The family is being assisted in Durham by Clements Funeral Service, Inc.
