Dear Harris Family,
I am so saddened to hear of the passing of cousin Gail. My mother, Mary Ellen Harris Andolino(George Harris's daughter) brought our family to meet Gail and his family over thirty years ago on a trip to Virginia. When our family moved to Michigan in 1997 I wrote to Gail about the closing of Tiger Stadium and sent him the news article and he sent me a nice letter in return. We are praying for your family. No words can fill the void you feel at the loss of Gail.

Becky, Kathy & Mark - I'm sure you don't remember me, but when your Dad played for Detroit you lived 2 doors from us in Allen Park and when the team was out of town I would spend the night at your house because your Mom didn't like to be alone. I've thought of you all so often through the years. God Bless you all.

Mark and Vicki, so sorry to hear about your father. Although I only visited with your father a few times I will always remember sitting with him at WOB looking through his incredible scrap books and the stories that he told. We haven't talked in a while, send me a note when you get a chance and let me know how you and the family are doing. [email protected]
Sincerely,
Dave and Cindy Enke

Dear Mark and family,
We just learned of your dad's passing and we are so sorry for your loss. Randy began his insurance career under Gail and Bill Rupp. He thought your dad was so down to earth and a super nice guy. He often mentioned how your dad would sit and talk for hours when Randy worked late. I became your dad's secretary after Shirley and her family moved to NC in the early 80's. To say I enjoyed working with your dad would be an understatement. He was caring, funny, patient, and smart. A true gentleman.
You had parents to be proud of and we pray you are comforted in knowing so many people cared about them.
May the memories you shared bring you peace in the days ahead.

To the Harris family,
I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Harris. I remember him when was a Tiger. As a kid in the late 50's I collected his cards! lol On May 17, 2005 he was kind enought to let me into his home in Manassas to talk baseball and sign my Baseball Players of the 1950's book. It was 9 pm! He was super, super nice. I know he is playing firstbase for God's Angels.

My condolences go to the Gale Harris Family. I regret I was not able to attend his recent memorial service. Gale brought me into Nationwide Insurance in 1985. He was a caring mentor to me, always passing along insights to me to enable me to have a broader view of the needs of others. Gale had great personal strenght, good humor and was truly a "class act." He was a fine role model for so many of our agents. Gale Harris helped me become the man I am today...I am grateful to have known him and will always remember...Friend

To the Harris family,
Growing up near Abingdon and being a baseball fan, I followed your dad's baseball career. Sometime around 1958, I was thrilled when my dad made it a point to introduce me to Gail. A few years ago, I called him to get some baseball information for a book I was writing. As before, he was very friendly and quite gracious to me. I later made mention of him in one of my books. As you face these days of sadness, may God comfort all of you as only He can.
Sincerely,
Jim Counts
