Margaret Simpson Hurst Margaret Simpson Hurst, 81, of Culpeper, VA died on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Fairfax Hospital. She was born September 28, 1928 in Alexandria, VA. She grew up in Manassas, VA and was the daughter of Harvey Frederick Simpson and Allie Lee Bailey Simpson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jean Douglas Hurst, her parents and one brother, Chester Frederick Simpson.

Soon after her marriage in 1949, she resigned her job as a legal secretary and became a full-time farmer's wife, continuing the farming life she had grown up in.

She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Sheila A. and Clarence P. Jones of Culpeper; one son, Gene D. Hurst of Elkin, N.C.; six grandchildren, Krista Costello, Afton Cubbage, Megan Cornett, Joshua Hurst, Melissa Newton and Major Anthony P. Jones; seven great-grandchildren, Dakota Tapp, Amanda Farley, Tyler and Kaitlyn Jones, Justin Cubbage, Jaylen Rock and Kaidence Cornett.

The family will receive friends September 9 from 2-3 PM and 7-9 PM at Moser Funeral Home 233 Broadview Ave., Warrenton. A funeral service will be held at noon, September 10, 2010 at Moser Funeral Home, by Rev. Charlie Stribula. Interment will be at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Midland United Methodist Church 5435 Midland Road, Midland, VA 22728-2134 or to the American Heart Association, 7203 Poplar Street, Annandale, VA 22003.
