I worked with Nick for a short time at D&B, and I can attest that he was a true gentlemen and a class act. A gifted and skillful engineer who felt his greatest strength was teaching others and mentoring staff. A truly rare man.

Dear Joan and Family:
After over 27 years of working for Nick at D&B, I will certainly miss him a lot. He made me understand Environmental Engineering and its importance as the years went by. I will especially miss our talks about the old days and how things were back in the old country. God Bless the Family and God Rest his Soul.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

Nick was a tremendous and thoughtful friend to The Whaling Museum through many years. Learning from him and working with him was an honor. We will not forget his intelligence, ethics, and remarkable life of a true gentleman. Our deepest sympathies to the Bartilucci family.

Nick was one highly respected and very gracious supporter of the Manhattan College Environmental Engineering program. At various consultor meetings, Nick would never lose his cool and always had thought provoking suggestions to offer. The college and I will miss him greatly. In my stints as chair and program director, I was happy to have Nick's ever generous support. Peace Nick and keep smiling.

Nick was a great friend. He loved Manhattan College and gave substantial financial aid for the development of the environmental engineering graduate program.as well as for scholarships for deserving students. The college named the library and conference room in his honor. Manhattan College will always honor him. When I retired from teaching in 1995, he gave me a gift with which I am deeply grateful. I will always remember Nick's rendition of "Good Night Irene" at a New Year's Eve party at my house in Syosset many moons ago. He had Joan and me, Ed and Jean Carr, and my husband Bill Parry cheering and laughing our heads off. Why do I imagine Bill and Jeannie welcoming Nick?

My deepest sympathy to the Bartilucci family at this sad time. I have known Nick & Joan for many years through the New York Water Envvironment Association (NYWEA). I, along with the "family" of NYWEA are very sad and will have the family in our prayers. Nick's truly professional demeanor, wisdom, guidance and friendship will be greatly missed....
