Damian Silvera Obituary

SILVERA - Damian Troy, born July 27, 1974 in Flushing, NY, died June 14, 2010 in Houston, TX. Damian had a passion for playing soccer after being named to the All American High School team. He attended the University of Virginia from 1992-1995, leaving there with three NCAANational Championships. In 1995 he was drafted by the New York MetroStars and his dream of playing Professional Soccer became a reality.In 1996 he joined the U.S. National team for the Summer Olympics and finally finished his career with the Kansas City Wizard. In 2001 he started coaching soccer to youngsters and the passion was renewed. Damian moved to Houston in 2003 to be closer to his brother. He is survived by one brother; three sisters; four nieces,and three nephews. www.kingwoodfuneralhome.com

We were so very saddened to learn of Damian's passing. Damian was an incredibly talented soccer player and a very handsome and respectful and fine young man. We send our heartfelt sympathy to his family. Sincerely, Terri and Scott Sommer and Family
