William H. Edwards

EDWARDS - William H. Rev. William H. Edwards III, age 86, died peacefully Dec. 16, 2016 in Hightstown, NJ. Formerly of Smithtown, born in Paducah, KY, Bill graduated from Yale University in 1952, and from Yale Divinity School in 1956. Married to Estelle Zies in 1954, he served as pastor in several churches in New York including 25 years at the First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown, NY, retiring in 1999. Throughout his life, Bill always strived to make the world a better and more just place by increasing the love of God and the love of neighbor. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Mark, and is survived by his wife, Estelle, son, Stephen, daughter, Barbara, and 4 grandchildren. A service will be held on Sat., Feb. 11 at 11AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown.
