Dear Abbate family,
God bless all of you and especially Gene. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Gene was sucha great guy and so much fun to be around. I was with
him on the 11th at his home and there he was as usual telling stories and laughing.
Heaven must have needed another angel because I can
think of no other reason why such a wonderful man would be taken at such a young age from his family and friends.
With love, from one of Gene's friends in Albany.

Gene was an excellent teacher and instructor who was knowledgeable about his subject. He also had the gift of being able to share and impart that knowledge to those he taught. He was a consumate gentleman and will be missed by the members of our organization as I am sure he will be missed by all who came to know him.

Dearest Fran and Eugene,

My heart is so heavy for you and all your children at this time. What a wonderful guy...Gene, too, was a heart throb of mine second only to Charlie!! It was always exciting when they would arrive at Moore's Hill for whatever!
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

With many kisses and hugs
