I just saw the notice in a copy of "The Rock". I brag to people that I practiced with him every day, but I imagine a lot of people brag that they knew Gene. I always liked him. I always admired him. Gene was a highlight in my life. I am so sorry for your loss.

My sympathy for the family of a fine, strong Bay Shore institution in the Costellos. I looked up to Eugene as a wrestler for Bay Shore and will always remember him as I a little boy watched him slay giants on the varsity mats. I wanted to be a champion just like he was and will always be.

So sorry for your loss. Gene will be missed. Each night while I worked here at the Middle School he always had a friendly, "Hello." You and your loved ones are in my prayers.
