James Marron Obituary

MARRON - James J., of Babylon Village, LI, on June 21, 2015. Retired New York City Fire Department Hero. Multi-decorated and recipient of the Bella Stiefel Medal of Valor. Adored husband of 62 years of Joan M. (nee Quinn) Marron. Loving and devoted father of Dr. Mary-Joan, M.D., Patricia and James (NYPD Capt., Retired). Cherished father-in-law of Dr. Andrew Corwin, M.D. and Robert Rudolph (Special Assignment Lieutenant NYPD, Retired). Adored by four grandchildren, Robert Rudolph and Matthew, Timothy and Kath-erine Corwin. Member of the SouthShore Waterfowlers. Jim was an avid decoy carver and collector. He was a Korean War Veteran and was the subject of Roger Bester's book "Fireman Jim." Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial Thursday 10:45 AM at St. Joseph's RC Church, Babylon, LI. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, LI. Visiting Wednesday 2:00 PM until 4:30PM and 7:00PM until 9:30 PM.

I will miss his wonderful smile and his patience with my sons when they were little. He loved showing them his decoys and made us all laugh!
