Cicero Barker Obituary


Cicero Wayne Barker, 87, of Mountain City, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Pine Ridge Care Center.

A native of Paradise, Texas, he was a son of the late Olive Chilton and Lillian Amanda Chitty Barker. He was a graduate of Mozelle High School in Santa Anna, Texas. He had lived in Mountain City since 1976. Mr. Barker was a retired Lap Technician with the Johnson County Hospital. He also served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Mountain City 7th Day Adventist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Terry Barker, and a brother, John Barker.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Pitts Barker; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and John Brokaw of Mountain City; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Julie Barker of Cincinnati, OH; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald Barker.

A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Youngstown Cemetery with Pastor John Riggs officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 13, 2011, at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.
