SUNBURY — Clara Mae (Long) Latsha, 88, of Sunbury Community Health and Rehabilitation Center and formerly of Dornsife, passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, in the Sunbury Community Hospital. She lived most of her life in Herndon and Dornsife Area.
She was born July 5, 1928, in West Cameron Township, a daughter of the late John W. and Mary E. (Polan) Heintzelman.
Mae was first married to John E. Long, who preceded her in death. She was remarried to Mark D. "Honey" Latsha, who preceded her in death Nov. 4, 2016.
Mae was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Red Cross.
Mae enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by five daughters, Melanie Shade and her husband, Jim, of Herndon, Lori Stiely and her husband, Steve, of Dornsife, Joan Kerstetter and her husband, Don, of West Cameron, Edna Kaup and her companion, Dale Lietzel, of Herndon, and Karen Yeager and her companion, Earle Potter, of West Cameron; three sons, Craig Latsha and his wife, Nancy, of Herndon, John Long and his wife, Betty, of West Cameron, and Ray Long and his wife, Nancy, of West Cameron; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ann Yocum and her husband, Barry, of Trevorton; two brothers, Russell Heintzelman, of West Cameron, and George Heintzelman, of Millville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Gottshall and Ellen Bowers; two brothers, John Heintzelman and Charles Heintzelman; and a granddaughter, Shannon Schell.
LATSHA — Clara Mae (Long) Latsha, 88, of Sunbury Community Health and Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of Dornsife. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Red Cross, with the the Rev. Will Cole officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1:30 p.m. Thursday until the time of services at the church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mae's memory to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 235 Schwaben Creek Road, Dornsife 17823. Funeral arrangements are by the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton 17881.
