Dennis Shomper Obituary
He was the husband of Carol Maurer Shomper. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 13.
Born September 11, 1943, he was the son of the late Ellen Ellinger Hentz Shomper and the late Jacob Hentz and Clayton Shomper.
Dennis graduated from Tri-Valley High School in 1961 and worked as a computer systems analyst for the Pennsylvania Department of Education for 40 years. He served on the Tri-Valley Board of Education for 24 years.
He was a member of Salem Church of Rough and Ready, Klingerstown.
He was a member of Valley Lodge 797 and the Klingerstown Fire Company.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son, Jason and his wife Mary, Rochester, NY; a daughter, Kristin and her husband Peter Frederick, Jr., Auburn; four grandchildren, Katherine and Luke Shomper, and Giana and Braxton Frederick; a brother, Roger, Hegins; and nieces and nephews.
A private service for family and close friends will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown with Pastor Mark Rothermel officiating. Interment will follow the service at Salem Church of Rough and Ready Cemetery, Klingerstown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 968 Postal Road, Suite 110, Allentown, PA 18109 or to the Salem Church of Rough and Ready Organ Fund, 1128 Ridge Rd., Klingerstown, PA 17941.
