Ann, Jerry and Family
So sorry to hear of Roy's passing, but living for 99 years; how many people get to experience that joy here on earth. Roy was always a pleasure to talk to, and yes as stated in his obituary he always had a story. I think that must be a Miller trait, Bobby and Leon were always full of stories as well; a lot of them filled with humor and memories of the old times. When I still hunted I can still see Roy coming out of the woods at the big curve at the bottom of the mountain there above Joe and his home that later became my mom and I's. I think he and Jerry had a favorite spot up above that curve somewhere. Of course hunters never reveal there favorite spots, so I could never find it, as hard as I tried. The last time I hunted I couldn't believe that he was still hunting, he must have been well into his 80s or even 90 at that time. I know Brian greatly enjoyed his visit with Roy this past year with my mom. I know he told Roy that he wanted to visit again to hear more stories about his Pappy (Bobby) Miller. Unfortunately that never happen, but he will have that memory to keep with him. I don't know who more enjoyed that adventure Ann, Roy and Irene took throughout the Pitman valley this summer; Roy or Irene? It was great for them to have that experience. It is so true that unless we share our memories and experiences with our loved ones and friends, that they will forever go with us to our grave, never to be unearthed again.
