DORNSIFE - Mark D. "Honey" Latsha, 83, of Dornsife, passed away Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, due to a vehicle accident.

He was born on May 10, 1933 in Jackson Township, A son of the late William I. and Mary M. (Erdman) Latsha.

Mark was first married to Donna Lou Baker, who preceded him in death. He remarried the former Clara Mae (Heintzelman) Long, who survives. He lived most of his life in the Herndon and Dornsife area and attended Trevorton Schools.

Mark served in U.S. Army as a corporal from April 1953 to April 1955. He last worked and retired as an equipment operator for Meckley's Limestone Products, Herndon.

He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church Red Cross, where he served on church council, Wormleysburg American Legion Post # 945 and life member of Herndon Fire Company.

Mark enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, fishing, hunting, the Little League World Series and was an avid football fan of Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to his wife, Clara Mae, he is survived by five daughters, Melanie Shade and husband, Jim of, Herndon, Lori Stiely and husband, Steve, of Dornsife, Joan Kerstetter and husband, Don, of West Cameron, Edna Kaup and companion, Dale Lietzel, of Herndon, Karen Yeager and companion, Earle Potter, of West Cameron; four sons, Craig Latsha and wife, Nancy, of Herndon, David McCreary and wife, Liz, of Oklahoma City, John Long and wife, Betty, of West Cameron, Ray Long and wife, Nancy, of West Cameron; 22 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Irma Kratzer, of Sunbury; three brothers, Arlo Latsha, of Trevorton, Merlin Latsha and wife, Nancy, of Dornsife, Ronald Latsha and wife, Barbara of Sunbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shannon Schell, and sister, Darlene Reffeor.

LATSHA- Mark D. "Honey" Latsha, 83, of Dornsife. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Red Cross, with Rev. Will Cole officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday, at the church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mark's memory to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 235 Schwaben Creek Road, Dornsife, Pa. 17823. Funeral arrangements are by Robert G. Foust Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, PA 17881.
