Kenneth Teats Obituary

PENNSBURG — Kenneth Fred Teats, 91, of Pennsburg, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem.

He was born in Coal Township, April 3, 1924, a son of the late Fred J. Teats and Mayme Derk Teats. He also lived in Plymouth Meeting from 1956 to 2012, before moving to Pennsburg.

He attended Coal Township schools.

Kenneth served in the U.S. Army paratroopers during World War II, receiving a Purple Heart. He was a POW for a time.

On Aug. 26, 1945, he was married in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to Betty Marcella Frederick, who died Feb. 9, 1986.

He was a machinist for SKF Industries of Philadelphia.

He was of the Presbyterian faith.

Survivors include grandchildren, Kenneth F. Teats III and his wife, Sandi McAuley, of Pennsburg, Kathryn Teats, of Spring City, and Laura A. Talone and her husband, Corey, of Audubon; five great-grandchildren, Evan McAuley, Rachael McAuley, Leah Teats, Jacob Zoccola and Timothy Haraske; and a sister, Janet Wilson, of New Jersey.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth F. Teats II, who died July 4, 2015.

TEATS — Kenneth Fred Teats, 91, of Pennsburg. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Farrow Funeral Directors, Chestnut and Sixth streets, with the Rev. David Wildoner officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Blue Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
