In 1982, I was an exchange student from Japan staying with a host family, the host father was one of Lizzie's grandchildren. Stanley and his family took me to her home on several occasions. Every time we go there, there was a lot of her home made meals. Every dishes were so delicious. The drive from Waynesboro to her house was always fun trip thinking what we are going to eat today! To this day, her banana cake is my favorite desert. I miss your rosy cheeks. I miss your laugh. I miss you Miss Lizzie. Emiko Matsui Pray

Dana,
So sorry to hear of your Granny's death. My husband just told me yesterday he saw it in the Cooperative Living. My mother was not suppose to stay in the hospital but had she not we would not have been able to get you the two copies with her story in it. God works in mysterious ways sometime. I know you will greatly miss her.

We are so sorry for your loss. I understand we are related. My grandmother was Hettie Elizabeth Wyant Zimbro. I believe my grandmother said Lizzie was her cousin but I'm not sure. I'm truly sorry I never had the pleasure to meet Lizzie. My thoughts and prayers are with all family members. Sincerely, Lynda and Charles Shifflett

Lizzie was a kind gentle woman with a genuine heart for caring! Her quiet unassuming manner was a blessing to the many persons whose paths she crossed during her years.
No matter how old we are, losing a family member or friend is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. But her goodness, her caring, and her wisdom live on, like a legacy of love that will always be with them.
Thoughts and prayers are with family and friends.

Maynard and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. Obviously I never met her but loved reading the article Cathy McDaniel passed on to us recently. What an amazing, amazing woman! She is a shining example to all of us on how to live our lives. Thinking of you and your family. Take care.
Sincerely,
Jack Jones

Little grandma, or for my kids little great grandma always had a smile and a kind word to say. Every morning she would rise dutifully as a farmer's wife filled with joy and thanksgiving for another day. I can still hear her voice as she would talk to the big red bird in the kitchen. We our promised that our Lord has prepared a table for us in his house, and I have a feeling that when we all get to join L'il grandma that she'll have made coconut cakes for the meal. God blessed her and us with 112 years and now He has called her home.
