I am so sorry to hear the sad news about Barb. When you lose someone you love it is one of the most devastating experience's a person can face. The emotions can be so overwhelming. Suddenly, everything has changed! But, remembering all the wonderful moments you shared together enjoying life can help to comfort you. And most of all, may the God of Love, who never causes what is bad to happen, sustain you with His promise of HOPE in the future. When He will soon end all suffering on the earth. When no one will say, 'I am sick.' How do we know this is not just some dream? Because what He says always comes to BE.
HOPE; "HE will wipe out every tear from their eyes and DEATH will be NO more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. And the ONE seated on the throne said; "Look! I am making all things NEW......these words are faithful and TRUE."

I was very saddened to hear about Barb. Always cheerful and pleasant, even when Skeeter and I woke her up in the middle of the night to get a bottle of hooch from the liquor store to celebrate, finally -12 hrs- of fixing my oil stove.
Barb was sunshine even on those rainy days of Tenakee.
Barb, your spirit lives on in each of us whose life you brightened.

What a wonderfully written tribute! I met others in the family, but not Barbara; now I feel like I do.

Reading the Juneau Empire online from my home in Oregon, I saw that Barb has passed on. I have many fond memories of Barb from my almost 5 years visiting Tenakee Springs as an itinerant public health nurse. She was always gracious, friendly and quick to share a smile. May you all be blessed as you reflect on your memories of Barb.
