Naomi Ogden Obituary

Naomi Ogden, 49, of North Pole, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 6, 2013, while surrounded by her family.
She was born May 13, 1964, to Irene and Bernard Jacobson in Huntsville, Ala. Naomi was the youngest of four children and her family moved to Fairbanks when she was an infant. Naomi was a 1981 graduate of Lathrop High School. She was continuing her education through University of Alaska Fairbanks Community and Technical College, where she also worked as the human resource manager. Those who worked with her loved her.
Her family states, "Naomi was a wonderful daughter, always there to help her mother and family, a very caring loving woman who thought about others before herself." Naomi loved spending time with her children, doing activities and making memories.  She was physically driven to stay in shape and be healthy, a gift she passed on to her children.
Naomi was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Jacobson; sister, Ruth Jacobson; and niece, Jennifer McLean.
She is survived by her husband, Dave Ogden; children, Melinda Quiroga, Andrew Walker, Evelyn Jacobson and Jonathan Ogden; son-in-law, Luis Quiroga; mother, Irene Jacobson; brothers, Philip Jacobson and Daniel Jacobson; and numerous cousins.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Naomi's life at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, in North Pole Worship Center, 3340 Badger Road, in North Pole.
Contributions can be made to the family at 3052 Treaty Street, North Pole, AK 99705, or the J. Michael Cancer Center, 1650 Cowles Street, Fairbanks, AK 99701.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fairbanks Funeral Home.

I have not seen Naomi in years, my children Valerie and Jared would play with Melinda and Andrew at the Press home. She always had a smile, such a beautiful person and loving mother. Our prayers go out to her children. May you find comfort and peace with family and friends.

Naomi was an earthly angel who made each of our lives more beautiful with her friendship. She was kind, patient, resourceful, and hard-working, even until the end. When I first started at UAF/CTC (then TVC), she always made time for me to help me learn the ropes. I'll miss seeing her smile.

We are all the richer for having known Naomi. She did her job here on earth and shared her heart, her love, her passion and her wonderful "SELF" with the rest of us and well, she just made us all want to be a better person because we saw how much SHE blessed everyone she was around. She will be sorely missed but I am glad that she is "home" now and still talk to her every day. ;) As Dave said, we will get that ride in heaven when we meet...(((hugs))) to the family and all who feel her loss.

My sincere condolences to all of Naomi's family and friends. I worked with Naomi at UAF's Community and Technical College (formerly TVC). She was a delightful person to work with--talented, conscientious, and someone dedicated to excellence in all that she did. It was clear to all who worked with her that she was devoted to her family and to her community. She left us far too early. She will not be forgotten.

In sympathy,

Rick Caulfield, Juneau

I didn't know her personally. But the way people talked of her, made her sound like such an amazing person. My heart goes out to her family. Heaven has a beautiful Angel now.
