Sandra Lizotte Obituary

Our beloved Sandra Warren Lizotte gracefully spread her wings toward heaven on June 5, 2011, on to her next adventure, surrounded by many friends and family.
She was born March 10, 1956, to Mary and Frank Warren in the old St. Joseph's Hospital. They moved to Circle City when she was 9 months old. There she took family and friends on many adventures.
She would come to Fairbanks to visit her grandma and grandpa, Maurice and Elise O'Leary, and play with her then (unknown at the time) future husband and cousins.
She worked hard at the family business, Yukon Trading Post in Circle City. In 1971, she saved her money and bought her horse Tamashan, who was her pride and joy. Tamasham was known for bucking off everyone but Sandy.
While living in Circle she met her lifelong friends, Carol, Colleen, Lynda, Karen and Irene. After graduating from high school in Fairbanks, she attended the University of Alaska in Fairbanks and in Anchorage, where she met another lifelong friend Mary.
Another adventure called, this time it was working on the trans-Alaska oil pipeline. She was a bull cook then decided to become an apprentice painter and a painter.
Tiring of the long, cold and dark winters, she moved to warm, sunny California, where her home was nice and warm, surrounded by many fruit trees. She was in love with California and would only return home in the summer months. She had many friends and family members visit her during the winter.
During all her adventures she always kept in touch with this Russell guy. They finally made it official and married July 22, 2007. They resided in Fairbanks with their dog Maggie.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Maurice and Elsie O'Leary; brother, Bobby; aunt, Diane Olsen; niece, Misty Blu; and uncles, George and Donald O'Leary.
She is survived by her husband, Russell Lizotte; parents, Frank and Mary Warren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Vicki Friedrich and Dick McManus and Brit and Kevin Nelson and their son Orion; niece, Shelly Friedrich and her son Corbin; nephews, Mike Maranville and Fred and Amie Maranville and their son Riley; uncle, Eddie 0'Leary; and many cousins and lifelong friends.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 2 p.m., Monday, June 13, at Immaculate Conception Church. A reception will follow at Murphy Hall.
Arrangements were entrusted to Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home.

The light is gone but it does not die
As the spark of our flitting Firefly
I see you across the fields spring flowers
The flash of your exuberance!
The darker we feel the brighter your light!
You're "Sunshine" in the darkest night
Bobby, Jimmy, Norma, Charley, Elsie, George + all
They are in the night sky too
They've been waiting there to welcome you
The light is gone but it does not die
I love you all my fireflys

Dearest Russell and Family, you are held up in our prayers, feel our embrace, we are always together. When thinking of Sandy I cherish the memories of our trips to Circle, the kids together, sitting at the table playing games at the big house, spending time at the store, listening to "Proud Mary" at night. Russ, God brought you and Sandy together and you will once again dance in joy. In His Love, Aunt Nancy, Uncle Garth and Nicole.
