Peggy Slate Jones

Peggy Slate Jones, 86, died on March 24, 2015, at home in Raleigh surrounded by her children. Peggy was born on July 22, 1928, in Stokes County, NC to the late Lonnie Gray Slate and Treva Johnson Slate. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Wendell W. Jones, who she loved very much. Peggy was a homemaker during her early married life and then worked for twenty years in the Estates Division of the Office of the Wake County Clerk of Court.

Peggy is survived by her son, Randy Jones and wife Linda of Raleigh, her daughter Jill Greene and husband Gary of Aberdeen, her granddaughter Angela Nasto and husband Chris of Morrisville, her grandson Jason Jones of Raleigh, her granddaughter Molly Key and husband Josh of Aberdeen, and her great grandsons Maddox Jones, Gage Key, and Eli Nasto.

Peggy is also survived by her brother, Tony Slate and wife Lila of Charlotte, and her sister, Sandy Kennedy and husband Gary of High Point, along with several nieces, nephews, and great nephews. Peggy loved her family and they loved her and will miss her.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 29th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Transitions LifeCare at 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607, or to a charity of your choice.
