To the family of Jim Cresimore, I am very sorry for your loss.
In 1986 Mr. Cresimore purchased my pastel “Night Car” when it was in The Raleigh Fine Arts Show. He wrote a letter that was encouraging, supportive, and kind. I still have the letter. I recently retired from teaching at the School of Design, NCSU and have been an artist since day one, continuing to work in my studio.
He was a dear friend to many artists in this community, not only me. Mr. Cresimore contributed greatly through his corporate art collection of a wide variety of artists and I sincerely thank him for that. But mostly I am sorry for his loss to the many people he came in contact with. He was an exceptional person and one I am glad to say I knew, though only briefly.

Dear Jo and Family,
It is with great sadness that I heard of the passing of Mr. Cresimore. I had the pleasure of working closely with him for 7 years. He was not only my boss, he was a friend that I deeply respected. I will always look back fondly on the years I shared with Mr. Cresimore at Associated and Allegiance.

Dear Jo, Joel, Allison, Jimmy, Jennifer, John and Jack,
I am crushed that I am not able to attend the memorial service for this fine man and friend of almost fifty years. But husband David will be there to represent our family while I have been called to Florida to help my mother recuperate from an illness.
Jim was indeed a kind, generous and lively soul who always had an amusing story to tell. In fact, when I think of him I think of his warm smile.
Jo, you have been an example of a loving wife and mother and I admire the brave and Christian way you are dealing with your loss. May God extend his blessing to each of you as you cherish and honor the memory of James Leonard Cresimore throughout your lives.
Sincerely,
Jeanne J. Smoot (for David, me, and the Smoot family)
