Francis J. Kelley
Chapel Hill
Francis J. Kelley, 89, of Chapel Hill, NC and Green Harbor, MA passed away peacefully at his home in Chapel Hill on January 11, 2012 surrounded by his family.
Mr. Kelley was born in Boston. He grew up in Milton, MA and graduated from Milton High School, the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA and Harvard Law School. Mr. Kelley served aboard the USS Pensacola in the Central Pacific in WW II. Mr. Kelley worked as a management consultant for Harbridge House, a Boston based international management consulting firm for many years. In 1977, he joined Advanced Technology in Reston, VA as a senior consultant to the Program Management Operations Center. He became the Profit Sharing Plan Administrator for the company and retired from Advanced Technology in 1982. Mr. Kelley was a lifelong runner, running well into his 80's, and competed in many races and marathons including Boston, London, New York, Marine Corps and the California Redwoods.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Cosgrove) Kelley; a daughter, Mary K. Sullivan of Worcester, MA; a son, John L. Kelley of East Norriton, PA; a daughter-in-law, Janet H. Kelley of Peoria, IL; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A son, Joseph C. Kelley and a daughter, Ann E. Kelley predeceased him, He is also survived by a brother, Daniel X. Kelley of  NC; three sisters, Mary F. Dacey of  Ohio; sister, Ann Kelley, S.N.D. Ipswich, MA and Sheila Doyle of Hingham, MA; and many nieces and nephews. A brother, Rev. Paul G. Kelley predeceased him.
Funeral and burial in Massachusetts with arrangements by the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 5 Canton Ave, Milton, MA. Donations in Mr. Kelley's memory may be sent to the Joseph Cosgrove Kelley '67 Classical Studies Fund, The Roxbury Latin School, 101 St. Theresa Ave, West Roxbury, MA 02132 or to the Ann E. Kelley Memorial Endowed Scholarship, Univ of Pennsylvania, Development Office, 634 Franklin Bldg, 3451 Walnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19104.

I worked with Frank many years, at Harbridge House and Advanced Technology. He was an exceptionally honest, loyal and likeable person. He enjoyed fine eating, and fine company at the dinner table. I have missed him.
