Frederick Parolari Obituary

Frederick Foley Parolari, age 81, of Charlotte, passed away December 31, 2010, at Southminster Retirement Community. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruth Grider Parolari, his son, Kevin Parolari, of Raleigh, NC, his daughter, Beth Jones and husband, Mark, of Charlotte, and three grandchildren, Ashley Snell, Whitney Jones, and Travis Jones. He is also survived by an uncle, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Fred was born on June 12, 1929, in Balcan, KY, son of the late William Parolari and Della Thompson Parolari. Fred acquired Eagle Scout rank and attended Tennessee Military Institute as a young man. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, William Parolari, Jr. and Bert W. Parolari. Mr. Parolari interrupted his college career to serve in the Air Force during the Korean War, achieving the rank of Staff Sargent. After the war, he completed his Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering at Vanderbilt University. He began his career in 1956, with J.A. Jones Construction Company, in Berlin Heights, OH. In 1966, Mr. Parolari was transferred to Charlotte. He retired in 1994 as CEO of Rea Construction Company.
A service to celebrate the life of Frederick F. Parolari will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at 11 AM, at Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church, 8801 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210, the Reverend Gus Succop officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at a reception in the church’s fellowship hall. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made in memory of Mr. Parolari to the Debt Reduction Campaign of Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church, 8801 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.
