Hello there. I am sorry to never have known you. I met your amazing son, Adam, shortly after you had died. You must have been a great man to raise a guy like Adam. Your son...means a lot to me.
Thanks for making Adam who he is.
He says you mean a lot to him. Sadly, I never knew,

Ricky left an impression on everyone he met. He was such a kind-hearted, considerate, sweet guy who I was able to get to know when I first met him at ZBT at IU. Even though he was a year older, he could not have been nicer to the Freshman class the first year I was there. No one could say a bad word about him. Ricky was genuine.

Even though I haven't seen Ricky in years he is part of my best memories at IU and ZBT. When I think of Ricky I think of his smile. He was just a great guy.

Ricky's gone way too soon. Stephanie, I'm thinking about you and your family.

To the entire Horwitz family:

I met Ricky in 1980 at our first Vikings soccer practice. I am not sure we ever lost a single game on that team. Ricky went on to be chosen out of 175 player's to play for the 73 Raleigh stars. Ricky was a state champion soccer player for the stars scoring the winning goal in the shootout in the semi finals and then scoring the winning goal in the finals to beat Eddie Popes Winston Salem team in 1988 Eddie Pope was on the cover of Fifa 2000 video game just to give you an idea of how good Ricky was and how good we were as a team!!!! When I look back at those teams and those players I can honestly say I think of Ricky the most because of how nice he and his family treated me as a child. I could never begin to thank him or his family enough for just being the Horwitz family!!!!!!

I will never forget Ricky and he will always remain dear to my heart

Best regards,

Trey Jones

Michele and Burton, Sherrie and I are so deeply saddened by this news. In these moments of immeasurable loss and grief, words are useless. So I simply say, I pray that God will grant you the peace that you need to get through this. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times as you celebrate Ricky's life.
